Pattaya by Bus

From Pattaya by Bus

Maybe you’re planning a bus trip to visit your friend or girlfriend at their village the other side of Thailand, or maybe just a short trip to Bangkok. The only thing you know is the destination address, and you’re not quite sure where the bus station is with-in the Pattaya area.

I have found there is a lack of information on the Internet, some un-true, and some even out of date. I also found there is a few online bus ticket booking web-site’s that are not very informative. The best one I have found to date though is 12go.asia.

I hope that this Pattaya bus guide will help and assist you……

I have personally gone to the following bus stations for the required information.

North Pattaya Bus Station to Bangkok Services

The north Pattaya bus station is found, quite unsurprisingly on north Pattaya Road (Pattaya Nua), very close to Sukhumvit Road. The "Roong Reuang" Bus Company have more than 100 buses and their services meets with convenience, comfort, and low ticket prices. This makes them one of the most popular methods to date for travel.

These buses (coaches) are regularly maintained and are fully air conditioned. They can at times be too cold so it would be advisable to bring some form of blanket or jumper. The Bus journey to Bangkok takes about 2 hours, but then if its peak hours you could expect it to take up to 3 hours. They do make use of the high-speed expressways though and have only a couple of designated stops along the way. There is a bus service that can take you to the southern bus terminal in Hua Hin. The single ticket charge is 389 baht and only has one departure time in the morning at 11:00. There is also a (Yellow Bus) service to the Northern Bus terminal in Mukdahan. The single ticket charge is 658 baht and the departure times are: 8:00, 9:00, 18:00, 20:00, 21:00 and 21:30.

North-Bus-Station-2

There are three main Bus services running from this terminal to Bangkok and the single ticket charges are as follows. To the Northern Bus Terminal in Mochit is 117 baht, the Southern Bus Terminal at Sai Tai Mai is 127 baht, and the Eastern Bus Terminal in Ekkamai is 108 baht.

You can only book a ticket in advance online at https://12go.asia/en/ or go to the relevant counter at the bus station. Here you can buy a ticket for a seat on the next available bus and with departures running frequently every 30 minutes from 04:30 to 23:00 you don't need to wait for very long.

This North Pattaya bus station has 4 major areas. In front of the terminal itself and to the right there is the bus departure / arrival area to and from Bangkok city. Next to this is the ticket counters where you can queue to buy a ticket for Ekkamai, Mochit, Hua Hin, Mukdahan or Sai Tai Mai.

As you go further into the terminal you will find the passenger area with adequate seating available. There are a couple of small shops and stall's where you can buy a newspaper, snacks and a drink. There is also a public toilet for your convenience. Just to make you aware there are no buses from this station to Bangkok Airport. There is a bus service that runs from Pattaya directly to Suvarnabhumi International Airport, but it is not operated by Roong Reuang Coach Company and departs from a small bus ticket office in Jomtien.....
